Everyone has their own little Christmas traditions here at Neom HQ and we’re always passing ideas around the office, so we thought we’d let you know about them too. Look out for more from the rest of the team over December…

I love big honeycomb paper lanterns – they look so stylish hanging from my high, Victorian ceilings. This year I’m shunning a huge tree and gaudy tinsel altogether and relying on these and plenty of subtle, clear fairy lights strewn over the bannisters, along the mantelpiece and around mirrors.

My little boy finally understands Christmas, so this year I’m trying to be creative and get him involved. Wrapping paper will be a huge roll of brown paper made festive with good old-fashioned homemade potato stamps in the shapes of Christmas trees, stars, and reindeer.

I swap some of the pictures I have in frames for vintage Christmas posters. It takes no time at all to do but it looks like you’ve had an interior design overhaul just for the festive period – much better than dangling tinsel over everything!

I do a bit of internet research on Christmas trends before I update our decorations; they have trade fairs in Germany every year that reveal the fashionable colours just like the Fashion Weeks. This year it’s all about cool, muted tones – think pistachio green, ice blue and silver.
