Describe your ideal calming & relaxing Sunday…
My ideal Sunday would be a lay in till hopefully 7.30am! We then follow with a lovely breakfast with all the kids which would definitely include Jamie’s coconut pancakes and plenty of hot coffee! I like to stay in my pyjamas till late morning, followed by a gloriously long bath with Neom bath oils. We have beautiful woods behind our house so we head off for a frosty walk to work up our appetite before a delicious roast dinner.
What makes you feel at home?
Being with my family in the beautiful open countryside will always feel like home to me. Our home in Essex is in an amazing spot and there’s a view from my daughter’s bedroom which I could just look at for hours. It’s just uninterrupted lush green countryside with the odd house dotted here and there with smoke coming from the chimney pots, it really is so idyllic!
As a multi-tasking Mum you must enjoy a little peace and quiet at times. How do you like to unwind?
It’s a bit bizarre but the only time I get a bit of peace is when I go to pick the children up from school. It’s the time I most look forward to each day. I get a flask of green tea, a stack of magazines and get there early to secure a good parking space. That 40 minutes of quiet is utter bliss before the madness ensues.
Sunday can often bring on the dreaded Sunday blues, do you have any tips on staying energised and motivated for the week ahead?
I do some sort of exercise each day in order to keep my energy and positivity levels up. I particularly enjoy yoga, or boot camp if I really need to be put through my paces. It can be pretty punishing at the time but I always feel fantastic afterwards, it definitely helps to get me through the day.
Your job requires quite a bit of creative input, how do you stay inspired?
I’m at my happiest when I’m with my family and find them a constant source of inspiration, my children, my mum and especially my husband inspire me all the time. I better not forget my sisters as well! I really am so proud of them all.
Is there a Neom blend which you particularly enjoy using on a Sunday?
As Sundays are about winding down before the week ahead I enjoy using the de-stress blends, especially Real Luxury. It’s a really potent blend of 24 deeply calming oils which are just perfect for relaxing with. On a Sunday evening I like to burn a Cocoon Yourself candle, I find mandarin, ylang ylang and chamomile especially soothing at that time of the day.
