Pure, natural energy...there's nothing better!

Nicola Elliott talks about energy levels and how the small steps can make a big difference.

For me so much starts with this...the right frame of mind, the motivation to get done whatever I want, the power to get the most out of my day (or night).

This season we are celebrating energy and our brilliant wellbeing board, alongside myself, will be giving you all our very best hints and tips to feel buzzing with it!

To kick off our season of energy, the Neom team posed the question to me at the start of January (it was minus 3 outside at the time and pitch black at 4pm...*cue long, wailing groan*) "If energy equals natural power, when do you feel your most powerful self?". Great timing team! As you can imagine, I had to dig deep for the answer...

I feel powerful when I get the balance of life right. A good night's sleep, a body full of the right nutrients, in a regular pattern with my exercise, working enough to stimulate me but not too much I feel frazzled. My home life happy. It's a bit of a list but that's good, it means I don't just rely on one thing, but a cocktail of elements to make up my wellbeing. And in turn to make me feel my most powerful self.

This Green smoothie is one of my all time go-tos to help give my energy levels a boost. Heaps of health boosting ingredients and powerful antioxidants to naturally boost your energy - job done!

Energy Boosting Green Smoothie

  • ½ avocado
  • 4 leaves kale
  • ½ apple
  • 2 slices of cucumber
  • 1 handful spinach
  • 1 cup of coconut water
  • 4-5 fresh mint leaves

Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Drink straight away.

Of course, we all have the times you drank too much at the weekend, didn't sleep, have put on 5lb, the kids are fighting in clumps and work dumps something unexpected in your lap...I could go on....but just stop, try and make your way back to the 'Good Zone'. Cook something healthy, take the bath, wake up early and go for a walk. Small steps, big difference and in the spirit of Neom energy season #MostPowerfulSelf.
